An Expression of Love For Mother's Day

Some cats are just irresistible!

Their purrs are good for your health.

Their love is very comforting.

They practice patience.

They show their love in many ways.

And finally, some advice.

Thank you, Mom, for everything.

Mother, May I?

It is now the month of May. Saw a wish the other day on Facebook for a happy May Day which reminded me of a game we used to play as kids called Mother, May I? That gave me the idea for this week's blog. Hope you enjoy.

Mother, may I go play with my bird friends?

Mother, may I talk to my friend, Tommy?

Mother, may I have some tuna?

Mother, may I tell the teacher how much I like her?

Mother, may  I be Supercat?

Mother, may I help you make the bed?

Mother, may I sit down?

Mother, may I find a place to cool down?

Mother, may I sharpen my claws?

My, these cats are just full of questions. Maybe the most important one is Mother, may I count on you to protect me?

That's enough questions for today. See you next week.

Monday Morning

Lancaster lived in a house with his cat family and his human family. He had a mama, two sisters and two brothers. His human family was a Mom, a Dad, three girls and two boys. He had fun playing with everyone; especially in the summer when the kids were out of school. Dad had a full-time job; Mom only worked a few days a week. It was perfect. Everybody got along and seemed happy. There was only one time during the week that Dad seemed grouchy and that was on Monday morning.

Lancaster couldn't understand that because one day was just the same as the other. He would eat, play, sleep and then repeat the process. What difference did it make if the day was Monday? One summer day, company came to the house to spend the weekend. Lancaster was excited to have more people to play with because the company brought two more kids with them.

However, Lancaster didn't realize what he was in for. He was able to play, but it was more than he was used to. Didn't they understand that he had his regular routine of eating, playing and sleeping and that he couldn't play all day and half the night? He'd try to sleep, but the kids were teasing him or bothering him constantly. On Sunday evening, the company finally left, but Lancaster was exhausted. He didn't even want to get up the next morning when it was time to eat. He opened one eye and realized why Dad was grouchy on Monday mornings!

My Nose is Running!

As winter begrudgingly moved out of the way for spring, Boris and his siblings looked forward to being able to go outside and play in the yard. They were too young last spring because they had just been born. It wasn't until fall they had the pleasure of the lying in the yard with the sun heating their belly or being able to chase anything that moved.

They were so excited to be able to go outside again! But things were quite different. The leaves were all green and small instead of red, yellow or brown. The grass was a pretty green and quite wet instead of turning brown and dry. The flowers were just starting to grow, so they didn't offer any shade if the cats wanted to lie down in the garden. What was going on?

Mama explained to him that this was a different season; it was a time for things to begin to grow. It was also the time of the year for things the humans called "allergies" with sneezing and running noses. Boris, as a cat, didn't think he'd have to put up with such silly things until one day............

his nose was running! Welcome to spring, Boris.

Happy Easter From the Cats!

It's time for Easter even though it seems like it was just a few months ago that the snow was falling and the wind was howling. However, in Wyoming, that can happen at any time during the year. :) At any rate, the cats and I wish all of you a very happy Easter and the blessings of the season.

Everybody needs a new Easter hat!

Or two or three.

You also need the Easter Bunny. Of course, there's real bunnies and then the make-believe bunnies.

It wouldn't be Easter without the eggs, now would it?

Oh, I wasn't thinking about that kind of egg. When Easter is over, the Easter Bunny will be told....

Happy Easter, everyone!!

The Mickey Mouse Club

As kittens, Rupert and his brothers and sisters naturally liked to play. There were many things to play with, such as balls, string, yarn, and whatever they could find in the house. Sometimes, it turned out, they played with things they shouldn't. However, that didn't stop them. Out of all the things Rupert liked, his favorite became a mouse filled with catnip. He would toss it in the air and then go pounce on it. He had so much fun and would play until he just was too tired to move anymore.

When winter turned to spring and the snow was all gone, the kittens were allowed to go outside and play in the yard. Oh, my, was that a treat! There were all kind of new things to investigate and discover. One day, Rupert was lying down next to his mama just enjoying the sunshine and watching his brothers and sisters. Suddenly, a small creature ran past them and startled Rupert. "What was that?", asked Rupert. "That's a real mouse, not a toy one." said Mama. Rupert was amazed at how fast a real mouse was! He couldn't wait until he could play with the real thing!

The humans in the house started talking about the days of their growing up and watching the Mickey Mouse Club on TV. Rupert couldn't quit thinking about that and the real mouse he saw out in the yard. Here was his chance! He decided to join this Mickey Mouse thing so he could play with real mice. However, he became very disappointed.

April Fool!

Wow! It's already the first of April. Don't know where the time went, but it flew by. Since it's the first of April, you know what that means. Wonder if any of our friends had April Fool tricks played on them?

Breakfast is waiting for you in the kitchen, Simon.

If you let me dress you up, you can play with the hamsters.

You can sit in the extra chair for as long as you want.

Be careful of the new lamp!

Rover, the cat told me she wants to play with you.

Hey, Mason! Guess who is with me.

It's a beautiful day outside. Go and play.

This family needs a dog!

Humans are in charge, not cats.

Do you play any April Fool jokes on your friends? If so, we'd love to hear about them.

Spring Has Sprung!

I'm sure that we have a few more snowstorms coming in this part of the country, but it's spring according to the calendar.Let's see how our furry friends like spring.

Since we lost an hour a few weeks back, it takes a while to get moving.

On top of that, cats may have trouble getting their humans up!

However, once our friends are up, there are things to do.

Once the necessities are out of the way, it's time to eat.

and relax.

Then it's time to play hide and seek.

Play with friends.

Catch a mouse.

Exercise

 Have a treat.

After all that, it's time to rest again.

Before evening, there might be time to pretend to be a Superhero

or to just simply watch people go by.

Some cats "spring" forward better than others. Don't think this one is handling it too well!

Are you happy that spring is here?
