Purrfect Quotes That Describe Your Cat

Looking through my cat pictures the other day, I realized there were some quotes from writers, celebrities, comedians, and various other people that certainly capture the "essence" of cat. These fun, furry creatures are also very mysterious. Edgar Allan Poe said that he wished he could write as mysterious as a cat. (Think he did a pretty good job on his own!)

Cats tend to be very aloof and they offer their love and attention to you on their terms. According to Ernest Hemingway, a cat has absolute emotional honesty. I couldn't agree more. Let's take a look at some more quotes. Don't know who gets the credit for the following quotes, but I've seen them before and still laugh because they're so true!
  • It's really the cat's house--we just pay the mortgage. (Amen)
  • My husband said it was him or the cat--I miss my husband sometimes. (Not really)
  • If cats could talk, they wouldn't.
  • Cats can work out mathematically the exact place to sit that will cause the most inconvenience. (My mother can confirm this one. Especially if she's trying to make the bed!)
Cats have a good thing going as far as food. According to Eddie Izzard, you buy the food. They eat it and go away. That's the deal.

Bill Dana, comedic actor, said it best. "I had been told that the training procedure with cats is difficult. It's not. Mine had me trained in two days." This is so true! You have to adapt to your cat, not the other way around.

Cats and music go together according to some folks.

Even Mark Twain had something to say on the subject.

Sigmund Freud shared this thought.

Miguel de Cervantes tells us that if you play with cats, you must expect to get scratched. Ouch! Been there and done that!

Lillian Jackson thinks that the most dangerous animal on the planet is not man, but a cat.

My favorite, of course, is from Robert A. Heinlein.

Last, but not least, as every cat owner knows, no one owns a cat.

And remember,

If you know something that "famous" people have shared about cats, please leave a comment. As always, we love your feedback.
